Browser extension: privacy

Freeboard and Bilancio extensions for Chrome, Edge and Safari · last updated 5 October 2026

The Freeboard extension (and its personal edition, Bilancio) brings your Freeboard dashboard into the browser: cash and safe-to-spend, transactions to assign, the accommodation budget on Booking and Airbnb, sales from eBay, Vinted and Subito, and expenses where you pay. This page explains exactly what it reads, where it sends it and what it keeps.

In short

Data from your dashboard

Once connected, the extension reads from your dashboard the numbers it shows you: cash per account, end-of-month and forecast figures, safe-to-spend, Cash Flow items with their amounts, bank transactions to assign, goals, items for sale and incoming refunds. It writes to the dashboard only when you confirm an action: assigning a transaction to an item, recording an expense or a one-off, adding an item for sale with its photos, an incoming refund, or changing an item’s amount for a booking. Every change can be undone.

Data from web pages

WhereWhat it reads, and why
Booking.com, AirbnbStay dates and price, to compare the stay with your accommodation budget month by month.
eBay, Vinted, SubitoOn a listing page: title, price, description and photos, to add the item to your Sales list. Photos are downloaded by your browser from the listing’s image server and uploaded to your dashboard only if you choose them.
AmazonOn order and returns pages: order total, order number, product name, refund amount, to record the expense or an incoming refund.
Checkout pages (optional)Only if you turn on “Safe-to-spend on checkout pages” and grant the permission: the cart total, to show it next to your safe-to-spend and to offer to record the expense.
Text you selectWhen you use the right-click menu: the selected text (an amount), to prefill the expense, refund or stay window.

The extension does not read passwords, form fields, messages or your browsing history, and does not run on other sites unless you turn on the optional checkout feature.

What is stored in your browser

All of this stays on your device, in the extension’s own storage. Disconnect in the options revokes the sign-in on your dashboard; uninstalling the extension deletes everything it stored. You can also revoke the connection from your dashboard, under Settings › AI assistants.

Your dashboard

Your financial data is kept by your dashboard, not by the extension: Freeboard dashboards are hosted by Bytelegion, the studio that makes Freeboard (the personal edition, Bilancio, runs on its owner’s server). The extension adds nothing to it beyond what you confirm.

Chrome Web Store

The use of information received by the extension complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements: data is used only to provide the features described above, is not transferred to third parties, is not used for advertising and is not used to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date. For questions, use the support address shown on the extension’s page in the Chrome Web Store or the App Store.
